Our Story

My wife Emily and I started a coffee cart business in Washington back in 2020 where we offered 100% Certified Organic, Fair-Trade coffee and espresso drinks at our local farmers market.  We were able to source fresh roasted coffee from a local roastery but that came with a price. In August 2021 while hiking through the vast wilderness of Colorado, I started thinking about sourcing and roasting coffee ourselves.  A small coffee roasting business that would support our family, our community and the outdoors in which we all enjoy. After over a year of research and planning, we launched Out of Bounds Coffee Roasters where we roast Organic, Fair-Trade coffees here in the Granite State of New Hampshire.

Why Organic/Fair-Trade?

Fair trade certified coffee directly supports a better life for farming families through fair prices, community development and environmental stewardship.

What does Out of Bounds mean?

Out of Bounds refers to the terrain outside of a ski areas boundary line.

When you pursue adventure out of bounds, your entering raw terrain lacking the safety net of Ski Patrol and groomed trails, also known as the backcountry.

At Out of Bounds Coffee we spend a lot of time in these areas in every season.  We find we're most happy and alive moving through these beautiful pristine places.  We wanted our coffee to reflect our passion for the outdoors so the name Out of Bounds Coffee Roasters came to life.

Over the years, we've challenged ourselves with big adventures and ambitious endeavors, stepping out of the boundaries of the daily grind.
